We identified every coworking space in metro Detroit selling walk-in desk access — day passes, hot desks, or dedicated desks, then kept only those that position themselves for founders by looking for startup, entrepreneur, or founder language on their own websites.
Each was then scored from public data: Google and Yelp ratings (70%), adjusted via a Bayesian analysis so that a handful of five-star reviews can't beat hundreds of good ones, plus weightings for mentions in industry (15%) and local press (15%) over the past three years, ignoring negative-news coverage to remove bias. Spaces with fewer than 25 reviews aren't ranked, and application-only hubs like Newlab appear as features, not rankings. Every number and quote is logged.
