Sound waves were the story of the week in Midwest funding. Not long after Histosonics was valued in the billions by using them to evaporate tumors, a Cleveland startup has raised $15m to use them to put out fires. Add a $53m Series D for rural healthcare out of Chicago, a new 50,000-square-foot mobility factory in Detroit and an oversubscribed medtech seed round in Grand Rapids, and the region put up around $77m this week.
Here are the Midwest investments from across the great states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin that we've been able to track and verify this week, ending August 21st, 2026. (In case you missed it, check last week's roundup here.)
