The Bloch Quantum Tech Hub just landed nearly $55 million in public and private backing to seed a Midwest-based quantum manufacturing supply chain across Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, aiming to turn regional factories and labs into the backbone of American quantum.

Instead of sending sensitive orders overseas, companies could find a nearby partner with the right certifications and relationships. Communities that host these facilities stand to gain not just payrolls, but training programs and spin-off firms.
One of the clearest motivations behind the funding is risk management: reliance on foreign components introduces vulnerabilities and slows deployment. Strengthening domestic manufacturing can be positioned as both an economic and national-security win.
